NATIONAL TRUST, STEAM YACHT GONDOLA - POETRY FILM

Geraldine Brown, Writer in Residence at Brantwood (2006) and her 'Write on the Farm' group of poets created inspirational and evocative poetry, capturing the nostalgia and cultural significance of Gondola in the wider Coniston landscape.

A poem was then chosen from the group's work and Jo was commissioned by the National Trust to produce a short film based on the chosen poem by Marion Brown, titled 'Gondola Found Us', read by The Crew of Gondola accompanied by Poets Oonah Joslin and Geraldine Green.

NATIONAL TRUST, "LABOUR OF LOVE - GEORGE TREVELYAN'S LANGDALE" SHORT FILM

The National Trust has spent a year celebrating George Macaulay Trevelyan, a man you might not have heard of.  Jo was commissioned to make a short film about George and some of the wonderful things he has done for the Langdale Valley, in the Lake District.  The Trust wanted a short film with just enough information about George and the work he has done, so that Trust members and the general public would want to find out more about this great man.  You can find out more about George here: https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/sticklebarn-and-the-langdales/features/a-labour-of-love---george-trevelyans-langdale

NATIONAL TRUST, GEORGE TREVELEYAN FILM (30 SECOND SOCIAL MEDIA FILM - NO SOUND)

Training Films

Training Films are a fantastic, cost effective way of keeping your employees up to speed.  Recording a training video means that employees can watch the training session at their own speed and repeat if necessary. It's a great way to help employees gain new skills, or simply introduce new employees to your business.  We can upload your film and allow you to create a password to view them, to ensure you maintain control over your privacy.

Talk to us to discuss your needs.

SHANNON TRUST - TOE BY TOE

Produced by Jo Hutton

Directed by Blake McGrow

Edited by Phil Powell

Shannon Trust is a charity devoted to the development of literacy in the UK prison system. We worked with the Trust to create two films to promote the work they do, and the opportunities they provide.

Toe By Toe is a peer mentoring scheme which enables prisoners with reading skills to teach other prisoners who cannot read well, or who cannot read at all – of which there are over 50,000 at any one time.

Before filming, Jo spent time meeting with Shannon Trust volunteers and prisoners at HMP Garth, to really get to grips with how the scheme works, and to hear first hand about how it can change peoples lives.

It was clear from the outset, that the prisoners themselves should have the opportunity to tell their own stories – not only would that make the films more accessible to other prisoners, but it would allow us to explore all aspects of the scheme, how it fits into prison life, and what benefits it brings to those who are involved.

Jo & Blake spent a day filming inside HMP Garth, a category B prison, interviewing a number of prisoners, volunteers and prison staff. We then edited a 4 minute film which is intended to be made available at ALL Her Majesty's Prisons Service within England & Wales which run the scheme. We also produced this 11-minute film, which explains in more detail how the scheme works, the benefits it provides, and how it has impacted upon peoples lives.

"I am pleased to be able to support the Shannon Trust’s work, and it was a very positive experience to go and see the Toe by Toe scheme in action and meet some of the mentors and mentees. Learning to read represents a significant turning point in anyone’s life, and may be the one thing that makes a difference to help people in prison turn their lives around".
